Family Sunday

Chay's one day off last week, we took the girls to the lakefront to feed ducks. Olivia loves anything that flies. Birds, ducks, butterflies, whatever she can gaze up at and imagine herself flying. Every time she spots a bird, she says "Birdie! Come here! Birdie!!!"... only to be followed by "Mommy, I want to fly!" I can only wish her curosity will last forever.

We also stopped at the park but that was a passing thought compared to the ducks. It was a 60 degree day but lakefront winds drop the temp about 15 degrees, factor in wind and it was freezing! All the same, plenty of smiles.

Dance Party

I had the most exhilarating morning! First, the sun was shining! (Yeaaaah!!!) This alone put us in happy moods. For whatever reason, I decided to crank up music and dance. Little did I know how much excitement this would create for my girls. Giggles and spins and 30 minutes later, we got our aerobic workout for the day.

(I had completely forgotten about how my freshman roommate and I would do this. We'd take 15 minutes of our day to blare music and soak it all in. It was the best stress relief.)

Unfortunately the good mood didn't last for my girls kicked my butt later this afternoon at the store. For some reason, (after a well-rested and timed nap) they decided they just weren't happy with me. I spent a frustrating 20 minutes at the checkout (after I'd already checked out) with both girls screaming, wanting me to carry them. I used to be able to do this but with Olivia 35lbs and Madeleine 28lbs, I just don't have the muscles! I don't know how I managed to get out of the store.

I only wished it were morning again so I get just get up and dance.

Where am I?

The last two weeks have been a blurr! It started with a 4 day visit from my older sis Blia and her daughter, Trinity. It's always great to see how much Trinity's grown since last time. We haven't seen them since last July 4th. It was so nice to see our girls play together and have a "girly" weekend. Lots of giggles, screams and jumping on the beds. My only afterthought is, I wish we weren't so far so our girls could grow up knowing each other and have regular playdates.

Fortunately or unfortunately, I didn't have time to dwell since immediately dropping Blia & Trinity off at O'Hare, I had to drive 4 hours to Lacrosse. My father-in-law was hospitalized for kidney stones so I went to Lacrosse to help where I could. He is still recovering but is coming along nicely.

Through all our driving the last week, we did make a nice pit-stop in Madison to see Keri and Caitlin. Cailtin's already 5 months! Super cute and super good.

Anyways, the girls and I are now in Sheboygan. We'll stay until Friday and then head back to Chicago. Chay's has a guys' weekend and I've still got a ton of sorting to do in our basement.

And now I hear my girls. I promised I'd take them to the art museum today for art time. Gotta go!
